Late Christmas Photos

So if you are wondering why I am posting a million pictures tonight - I haven't been able to find my adapter, found it tonight and went posting crazy. Here are some pics of our Christmas morning.

Family Portrait

This is all Hannah, she spent a lot of time setting this up. So staged. I love it.

Ruby's hair. Why is it such a facination with people? Is it just because it is 'different' from ours? So many people ask me about Ruby's hair. "How did you learn how to do it?", "Did you have to take a class?", "Does it take forever to do?", "How long can she go without washing her hair?", "So in so asked about her hair, do you want advice or need help in doing her hair", "Are you just going to let it grow?" "Can I touch it?".

Well, to just sum it all up, Ruby is my daughter - She has hair, I do it. And to be honest, it is a lot easier to do than Hannah's hair. I LOVE doing Ruby's hair. She has amazing hair. It is so thick and so soft and curly. And as it gets longer, it is getting easier and more fun to do.

Just a friendly reminder and request - Ruby is a little girl that is very........aware. While I know that 90% of the comments we get are all well intended, I have a little girl standing next to me that is trying to find her place in our lives and our family. Sometimes some of the comments leave me feeling like she or her hair is an object. It is only different because it is different than yours. It is only different because we live in a pretty non diverse blond hair blue eyed city.

So beyond my soap box, every time I do Ruby's hair, she insists on me taking a picture of it so that she can see it. Here are some of our recent hairdo's.
